CLOSED FOR SUMMER BREAK
JUNE 29, 2008 - JULY 7, 2008

Reopening Tuesday July 8 11:30am

Each year we close the restaurant for two brief weeks, once around Christmas and once in the summer. In part it is these brief closings that help us stay fresh and energized so that we can provide you with a happy staff and the best possible service throughout the year. It is also these times that we take to do any major renovations or repairs that need to be taken care of when there are no guests to disturb. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

See you soon!

WINE ME, DINE ME DINNERS
FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH - NOW RESERVING FOR AUGUST 5, 2008
Cafe Josie is now offering "Wine me, Dine me" dinner events the first Tuesday of every month.

We invite you to spice up your week by enjoying a 4 course tasting menu and wine pairing designed by Chef Charles Mayes for those with an adventurous pallet. Seafood, tropical fruits and chili peppers tango together through our menu and our wine list is expertly chosen to make your pallet sing along with the cuisine.

Menus will be chef's choice and will vary in theme from month to month depending on things such as seasonal seafood and produce as well as wine regions. Seats must be purchased in advance and only a limited number of seats will be made available. Pricing will vary depending on the chosen menu and wines but will be announced before tickets are made available.

Our next "Wine Me Dine Me" dinner is scheduled for August 5th.

If you are interested in hearing more, or purchasing tickets to our next Wine me, Dine me dinner event, please email us at winemedineme@cafejosie.com or call and speak to Cody Taylor at 512.322.9226

We are presently taking reservations for the August 5th Wine me Dine me Event. Please call now to reserve your place at the table.

NOW SHOWING . . .
The works of Javier Munoz
Showing May 24, 2008 Through July 11, 2008

Up and coming artist, Javier Munoz, is a Texas born artist who grew up in San Antonio and has now lived in Austin for over 18 years. He is currently working as a graphic designer and marketing manager for a small software company, but painting is his passion and consumes most of his spare time.

Though Javier has no formal art education under his belt, he mentored under his uncle, the famous San Antonio artist , Armando Sanchez for many years. While Javier’s work has some qualities, like bold colors and large sizes, that are reminiscent of Armando’s work, he has a style that is uniquely his own.

Javier creates whimsical portraits, in bold colors that lead you on a journey into the character of the subjects he paints. Even his still lives seem to have a personality of their own. Javier works with oils and acrylics on canvas.

We are honored to have one of the first of many art shows that are surely in Mr. Munoz’s future and invite you to come and enjoy his work that so beautifully and creatively complements the food and ambiance here at Café Josie.

Please come in and view Javier Munoz’s show from May 24, 2008 – July 12, 2008

New Works by Karen Saenz
The Workes of Karen Saenz
Show Begins Saturday July 12, 2008

Cafe Josie is proud to present to you the works of Karen Saenz. We've had her work here before and its stunning colors, grace of stroke and natural beauty compliment the Cafe so perfectly that we've asked her to come back again and again. We've invited Karen to be our "Resident Artist" so to speak. That's to say that we'd like to keep her work here indefinitely. With possible breaks for other show opportunities for both Karen at other locations, and other artists here at the Cafe.

This time around Karen has been hard at work in her newly constructed studio in East Austin and will be presenting some wonderful new pieces. We are totally excited!!

A little more about Karen...

Karen has devoted much of her life to adorning, translating, and exploring the visual world and strives to convey the sense of awe she holds for the people, places, and beautiful objects that appear in her daily life. For Karen there really is both a sense of thrill and peace that comes with investigating an object so closely and intently and that shows through in all of her works and the feelings that they convey.

Karen resides and works in East Austin and is not only an incredibly skilled artist, but also a joy to work with and know.

Please come join us and view Karen's works starting July 12 here at Cafe Josie.

You can visit Karen's Website for a sneak peak at KarenSaenz.com
